Tramped in dusty,
Unworldly streets.
A long chain, rusty
From the sea,
Scraped the ground.
An oafish creature irately
Barked sounds
At frightened composures.
Then keen claws
Swiped at noses,
Cheeks, and jaws;
At trembling faces.
Another boorish monster,
Stranger to Earth's races,
Climbed atop an alter.
A repetitive drawl
Began as dusk fell.
And a line of men, lean and tall,
Were led by demons into Hell.
