Literature Text

Bleak musterings of timid hopefulness my strength keeps,
For I was just a native lad who fell into the teeth of beasts.
Damaged as I am, the pale moon raises the tide of my wane heart,
And leads me to you, my dear, the one I love and will never part.
The night's shadow leaves a curse upon my hampered skin,
I can come from without, but can never leave from within.
Shivering girl, don't wait for me, I am with you, don't you see?
Time hues your wishful face, and worrisome lines find their place.
Night's weary arm embraces the sky like a mother does her crying child,
Whence sorrow casts its shadow and happiness is awaiting the while.
Sets the moon now, for the sun's lofty throne is to be filled,
And you, my love, are given word that I, your sweet, am killed.
